Moon Town - Go to the Website

OK, I'm migrating the Moon Town content off of the Steve Ogden NEWS here and over to moon-town.com. The BLOG and all the other pages except the CAST page are live. There are now three episodes of the podcast to keep you entertained while I put this show together. See you there!

Fantastic, I've been a secret viewer of the web site for a little while now, and did download the first podcast about two or three days ago, will download the second one now and look forward to a third one. I love making of stuff and hearing peoples stories.

I like the new look...old look was great too though, it's a really nice design and simple. Like it a lot.

Glad you like it, Michael. Thanks for coming out of Secret mode to drop me a note!

The little I have seen so far both looks and sounds great. Looking forward to see and hear more of your Moon Town.
It's going to be interesting to see how you pull it off, managing the many short episodes, making them stand on their own aswell as work seamless with a natural feel all together in a 20 minute film. I think that will be a real test of skill. Best wishes for you. Keep up the great job!

Mathias!...what in the twelve different shades of toothpaste happened to your blog?...I *do* keep checking back to see if there’s a update on the project but the blog seems to be down...the project was looking great and I hope its not been terminated. I hope you are well too dude. Mike

Yeah, me, too. :) I already have a fall-back position, though. I'll do whatever makes the best story. So if the episodes don't stand on their own, well, that will have to be OK so long as they hold up when they're all together. Which is the way I suppose I should be developing them anyway, but I just thought it would be neat if they each could stand on their own. We'll see what a 2 minute stand-alone film with a cliffhanger looks like. It might be horrible.

Thanks for the note... it's always good to know people are following along.

Looking forward to it,
and I see from the about section that you are planning on releasing the first one sometime this spring.
I was really surprised to see that it would be released this quickly.
Crossing my fingers for a smooth production, hoping you'll make your schedule.
I came home yesterday, from a vacation, so all of a sudden you'd opened a website, made three podcasts.
Well, I've listened to the first now, and looking forward to the other two.

I don't want or intend to draw interest from Steve's work, but I feel that it might be better to clarify Michael's question in here as perhaps some other animwatchers might be lurking and wondering aswell.
I'm sorry to dissapoint you but some time ago I decided to put the project with the birds on the shelf, and due to the fact that I lack time to update with something else of substace I decided to take down the blog aswell.

Sounds like the best solution for the project. Looking forward to see how things turn out and I'm definatly going to follow along the ride. Best wishes!

Mathias - I'm so sorry to hear you have mothballed the bird film. You were making such good progress, and it looked so good! Any intention to de-shelve it in future?

As far as drawing interest away from the blog here, I don't mind you guys discussing stuff. Comments are good - it's nice to know people are reading. Good to know you're out there.

Well, and I may be insane. I have to say the Moon Shark has taken me MUCH longer to build and texture than I thought. I intended to be a real hack with this, just slapping stuff together and saying Good Enough will be Good Enough. Something funny has happened where my Speed Technique has run square into my love for the project, and I want everything to be perfect.

Well, I'm going to have to get over that really quick. I don't have time to guild any lillies, and I'm going to have to wrap up this Moon Shark and move on to the rest of the assets for EP 1. Yikes!

Thanks for the support and the note.

Mathias - Uh oh, well, that’s not as bad as it sounds?...it's been shelved but will come off the shelf one day?...I’m sorry to hear it too, but, I fully understand what you have said there, it gets down to hard choices at the end of the day on what to do and what not to do.

Thanks Steve and Michael! Yeah, it's most likely that I will pick it up again, although at this point I really can't say when.
I'll let you know when I have something though.

Maybe some models are worth the extra time and effort put into them, but I think that, if the creator barely can't see the flaw, the audience will most probadly not notice it either.

I watched the Superbowl spot for Wall·e (http://www.imdb.com/video/user/me705141851) the other day where Buzz and Woody sitting on a couch talking about Wall·e. Its not noticable at all untill you go in HD, and the overall picture looks really good but the texture of the couch is just stretched evenly over the model. The first viewing you don't notice since its not in the field of focus and where the characters are moving. I think you can get away with quite alot as it's not untill you freeze frame and start looking for flaws that you'll find them. And that was a Pixar ad.

I hope you're able to avoid the curse of the hamsterfactor.

I'll be watching! Keep up the good job.
